Air pollution at first was only a problem a big problem for the big cities, especially due to its factories and flammable fuel; however, it has spread around the world. As any other kind of pollution, it doesn’t have good effects, only damage which affects buildings, the environment and health.
Building can suffer from this pollution, but it will take a few years. As a result of toxic substances, some structures might oxidize and consequently will be less durable. As a consequence, the building will become fragile and can collapse at any moment, which is very dangerous for the people inside and around the construction.
The others effects are related to environmental and health problems; both are about living beings, such as plants, animals and humans.
The depletion of the ozone layer is a result of air pollution. As what happens with the buildings, the contaminated air damages that surface. Due to this damage, the sunlight will shine on the earth surface stronger than before, which might cause the rise of the number of cancer cases, forest fire and animal deaths. Acid rain will happen frequently; thus, the quantity and quality of our food will decrease, which absolutely won’t be good in a world with 7 billion people and starvation problems.
The following one is the first effect that human being notice, because that is directly related with their health. Some people start to breathe with difficulty, while others have lung cancer, to mention few, because many other diseases are related.
In conclusion, air pollution is a huge problem and it is very hard to solve it, especially because some effects are irreversible. As such, we need to discuss finding alternative ways to stop this emission of toxic gas, and maybe having alternative ways to generate energy is a very good first step.
